Before you can enjoy healthy relationships, you must begin by healing yourself.

At The Center for Healthy Relationships we are committed to putting you in control of your feelings, your thoughts, your life. Effective therapy requires the therapist to teach, guide and support you in activating your own healing system. We specialize in helping you understand how to do this. Many of our clients say that what they learn about themselves from us in their first session with us is more than they’ve ever learned with other therapists.

Our mission is to help you eliminate your need for long term therapy by pulling back the curtain on therapist “trade secrets” and showing you how to use them to your benefit. Our proprietary system is focused on empowering you to develop the skills and tools necessary to get you where you want your life to be; effectively, efficiently and consistently.

These tools and skills are your birthright. Healing resides within your body/mind/soul and it is your right to understand how to activate this healing system to resolve personal or relationship challenges that come your way. This is the foundational belief that drives our work.

Tamara Ridge, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is our Founder and Director. She teaches us this foundational principle: “The answers are inside you. Trust yourself.” As therapists, we understand that we must be awake and active in our own healing system to be able to guide you to your healing system. We have learned how to do this for ourselves and we’d love to help you on your journey toward self-discovery, healing and more fulfilling relationships.

A Bit About Therapy

HANDING YOU THE KEYS TO YOUR SELF-HEALING SYSTEM

One of the common misperceptions about therapy is that there is a requirement to “rehash” old pains and talk about things you don’t want to discuss. Another unnecessary myth is that your therapist somehow holds “expert status” on how you should direct your life. We don’t believe these things.

At The Center for Healthy Relationships, we are interested in those experiences that intrude into your current enjoyment, so we won’t ask you to dig for old feelings. Instead, we focus on teaching you how to resolve the discomfort you are feeling right now. In present time. Maybe you endured criticism as a child and have worked very hard to develop your confidence. You are great at meeting your goals, you enjoy your friends and feel that your past is no longer controlling you. But you find yourself overreacting when a co-worker continues to talk negativity at work. Over time, your confidence wanes.

Perhaps you suffered a trauma or a loss. You cried. You talked it out. You worked past it. But today you find that certain things are still hard for you to do.

In each of these situations, residual feelings from the past are still alive in the present moment. We will help you understand what is happening in present time without asking you to relive feeling from the past that you aren’t already experiencing. We will quickly help you understand why old feelings are popping up and what to do to separate the past from your present ability to live a fulfilling life and enjoy healthy relationships.

What’s more, we’ll help you see the process so that every time old feelings threaten a present moment, you’ll know exactly what to do about it.

We know what the roadmap to self-healing looks like and we’re ready to hand you your keys.
